My comment:

Nostalgic! I miss the hawker stalls so much! I haven’t been to them in quite a while… Lately, there’s been a rise in Malaysia’s infection cases, so things feel a bit tense. I’m praying hard for us to be able to go out again soon!

Have you heard of Taman Yulek in Cheras? I think Cheras is still not very well-known among Japanese expats. Compared to areas like Mont Kiara or Bangsar, which are popular with Japanese residents, it’s probably still a bit early for that. However, the area around Ikea Cheras and Sunway Velocity shopping mall has been developing rapidly in recent years, with many new shops opening up. So, you might have heard of “Cheras” a little more often now!

This time, we visited Taman Yulek, a neighborhood known for its strong Chinese community. Of course, they have my favorite Char Kway Teow (炒粿條), along with Prawn Mee (蝦面/ハーメン), durian-flavored shaved ice, Pau (steamed buns), and various Chinese-style fried pastries! The number of hawker stalls was a bit limited, but we still had a wonderful time. We went out for a stroll with friends and stopped by to eat. Being a hawker center, the prices are incredibly affordable—you can get a bowl of Prawn Mee for just RM6.50 (approx. 165 JPY). We left feeling full and satisfied!
