West Min Si Four-Faced Buddha (Buddhist Temple) at Wesak Day (Wesak Day)

As you may know, Malaysia has a lot of public holidays.

Wesak Day (Buddha’s Birthday) is one of the holidays commemorating the birth of Lord Buddha.

Vesak Day is the most significant day and festival in the Buddhist calendar, with Buddhist temples holding annual celebrations from early May through early June.

I visited the Buddhist temple “Ximing Si Four-Faced Buddha” in the Pudu district with my family.

Many people held incense sticks and prayed around the temple, especially in front of the Erawan Shrine (not the one in Bangkok).

Another major event takes place at the Vihara Temple in Brickfields.

This is where devotees, Buddhists, and visitors participate in the Candlelight Procession.

Carrying candles and flowers, participants join the procession and walk quietly back to the temple, offering prayers along the way.

When traveling to Malaysia, be sure to check out what festivals and events are taking place during your visit.

That way, you can celebrate alongside locals and immerse yourself in the rich cultural tapestry of Malaysia.
