Traveling in Taiping and stopping by Trong Leisure Duck Farm

I went to meet 10,000 ducks!

~ A Day of Playing with Ducks at Trong Leisure Farm ~

Just about 30 minutes further from Taiping lies Trong Leisure Farm. My husband suggested we visit the Duck Farm, and at first, I was completely uninterested, thinking, “We’re not kids anymore; is it really worth making a special trip just to see that?” But wow, the Duck Farm is incredibly fun!

Look at this! A huge flock of ducks!!! When I brought some food and stepped inside the fence, this is what happened (;^ω^) It’s amazing, ducks! 🐥 This is the first time in my life I’ve been surrounded by so many ducks!

Her big, round eyes were absolutely adorable. I ended up with a whole album of duck photos (lol).

This duckling is less than a week old. Super cute, but it’s raised for food and exported to Singapore and other places…

When you place food in the palm of your hand, the ducklings all flock over to feed, pecking at your hand as if an electric shock runs through you.

They might even climb onto your legs and poop there, so be careful!

Here’s the adult duck. Adult ducks won’t come near you even if you’re holding food, and they won’t eat what you scatter. They’ll run away if you get close… They know that humans are scary… Because humans eat them, after all… Duck is delicious and I like it, but it’s too complicated.

A huge flock of ducks under the palm trees—this setting is so interesting! The quacking echoes all around. There aren’t any tourists, so we had the duck farm all to ourselves. It was truly amazing and so much fun!

From the parking lot, you hop onto this little trailer (yes, there are proper seats!) and get towed by a tractor to meet the adorable ducks waiting further inside!

The feed is just RM1 per bag. So cheap! And it’s surprisingly full.

My comment:

I spent three days in Taiping, and on my last day before heading back to KL, I stopped by Trong Leisure Farm & Resort to meet some adorable ducklings! It was my first time seeing 10,000 ducks in my life, and it was incredibly fun. Taiping is a wonderful place to experience dynamic nature and wildlife, and both I and my friends who traveled all the way from Japan were deeply impressed. At Trong Leisure Farm & Resort, you can meet ducks of various ages—from two weeks old to three months and over a year old. Most of these ducks are eventually exported to places like Singapore and will ultimately become Peking duck (/ω\). The farm also offers videos and small seminars to learn more about ducks (note: these are in English).
