The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur
A five-star resort-style hotel in the outskirts of KL, featuring expansive tropical gardens. Step away from the city center to refresh both mind and body, and experience the warm hospitality of the tropics!
Hi there! I’m Ayako, a Japanese wife living in Malaysia.
Malaysia is right in the middle of durian season, but it’s coming to an end soon… I’m going to miss it so much! I managed to enjoy plenty of it this year too (^_-)-☆ Malaysian durian is said to be the best in the world, so be sure to visit Malaysia during durian season. Let’s go!!!
Now, let me introduce you to The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur, a five-star resort-style hotel located just outside Kuala Lumpur. Nestled within a sprawling 160-hectare tropical garden and adjacent to a golf course, this hotel is highly popular among Japanese travelers. Whether you’re a visitor or a KL resident, it’s the perfect getaway for a relaxing holiday. Inside the garden, you’ll find a serene lake, inviting pools, and an abundance of lush tropical flora, all designed to offer you a true taste of tropical hospitality.

■Facilities:
<Pool>

The expansive 160-hectare garden is filled with lush lawns and palm trees!! Relax by the hotel pool, surrounded by tropical greenery.
The hotels in the city are quite cramped, but this place is truly spacious, giving kids plenty of room to play to their heart’s content. Just be sure to keep a close eye on them, though.

Beyond the palm trees, there’s a variety of other plants, squirrels are around, and it’s incredibly peaceful.

<Garden>

Tall palm trees and a large fountain in the lake! The white object in the bottom right of the photo is a pool slide. Kids can have fun here too.

The leaves of tropical plants are huge. Bathed in the sun and drenched by rainstorms, they absorb so much water that they grow to such impressive sizes.

■ Hotel Facilities & Restaurants:
<Outdoor Rest Areas>

Smoking is not allowed inside the room, so please use the ashtray provided here. While smoking in the city can feel a bit restrictive, here you can take your time and enjoy a smoke while seated comfortably on this chair.

There’s a gym in a separate building—a fitness center nestled in the forest.

Plenty of machines in a spacious area! Refresh your eyes, brain, and body while enjoying the greenery.

This is a clean, fully air-conditioned gym with a water dispenser available. If you’re staying at the hotel, make sure to take advantage of its facilities—it’s a great value! Operating hours: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

<Playground>

The garden also features a playground for kids. Since Malaysia is hot, please let them play in the morning or in the evening (*‘∀‘)
<“Kozuki” Japanese Restaurant>

There’s also a Japanese restaurant called Kozuki. With the elegant ambiance of a traditional Japanese-style ryotei (high-end kaiseki restaurant), both its exterior and interior create a truly inviting atmosphere.

There are also private rooms with sunken kotatsu tables. With shoji screens, it felt just like being in Japan. Since they face the lake, the views are also excellent.
<WHISKY BAR @ RP>

This charming building, draped in ivy, is the WHISKY BAR@RP

This is the terrace seating area. We weren’t able to take photos inside since it was closed, but the interior has a wonderful atmosphere.
<“SENJA” Italian Restaurant>
There’s also an Italian restaurant.

So much wine!

Buffets featuring cuisines from around the world, alongside à la carte Western and Asian dishes.
<Club Lounge>

■ Reception and Exterior:

<Lobby>

A tropical-style lobby with high ceilings, almost no walls, and excellent airflow! Large ceiling fans are spinning overhead, making it incredibly refreshing. Don’t worry about the rain—staff will close the wooden doors for you.

Must-Know Money-Saving Ayah Info
Across from The Saujana Hotel is The Japanese School of Kuala Lumpur. With a total of 697 students across its kindergarten, elementary, and junior high school divisions (as of July 1, 2020), this school is a major draw for Japanese expatriates, meaning a significant number of Japanese residents live in the Subang Jaya area.
The Saujana Hotel is adjacent to the Saujana Golf & Country Club, so many guests stay there specifically to play golf.
You can also host garden weddings in the garden area of The Saujana Hotel.
Reception is open 24 hours a day, and you can choose whether or not to include breakfast.
Parking is available, so staying by car is perfectly fine!
There are very few places within walking distance—basically just the Kuala Lumpur Japanese School and Saujana Golf & Country Club—so it’s not really feasible to go out for evening strolls.
