SOOO GOOD Hearty Soup (小二煨汤) in Pudu [Eat Nico]

Hello! I visited the Healthy Soup Restaurant in Pudu. The Pudu area has a long history of development and is home to many traditional shops and affordable local eateries. In recent years, development has expanded from Kuala Lumpur into the suburbs, leaving Pudu somewhat overlooked due to its older buildings, which have limited further redevelopment. However, this area is now seeing gradual new development projects. Thanks to initiatives like the TRX Financial Free Zone in the nearby Imbi district, Pudu is also benefiting from new infrastructure, including the opening of new hotels such as the Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade Hotel.

SOOO GOOD! Hearty Soup (小二煨汤)

Outside this healthy soup restaurant, you’ll find large jars on display. These jars are used to steam traditional Chinese herbal soups. There’s a wide variety of soup options to choose from.

It’s Chinese cuisine, but it’s different from the Chinese restaurants in Japan—and absolutely delicious! I especially loved the seasoning on the vegetables in the top-left corner. I even asked about the recipe and ingredients, and tried making it myself!

Chinese-Malaysians often enjoy traditional herbal soups alongside their meals. Since Chinese cuisine can be quite rich and oily, having soup is said to be gentle on the stomach and intestines. Moreover, these herbal soups are packed with incredible nutrients. It feels like 3,000 years of Chinese history are condensed into these restorative broths.

My comment:

The Pudu area is a mature, long-established commercial district brimming with delicious hawker stalls and food options, offering endless discoveries for every visitor!

I first stumbled upon this shop because of the four enormous jars lined up right outside—it was impossible to miss.

According to the menu, they serve a different type of Chinese soup each day. It’s definitely delicious! (I forgot to take a photo of the menu, sorry!)

Both the vegetable dishes and the duck cuisine served in a clay pot were absolutely the best!
