Putra Mosque (Pink Mosque) in Putrajaya [Travel to Malaysia]
Hi there! It’s Ayaka. I recently visited the Putra Mosque, widely known as the Pink Mosque. Its soft, muted pink-beige hue gave it a lovely, charming impression.
The Putra Mosque is located in Putrajaya, about 40 minutes south of central Kuala Lumpur. It’s one of the modern mosques I highly recommend visiting during your trip to Malaysia.
This mosque is said to accommodate up to approximately 10,000 worshippers, including those on the second floor, making it the largest in Malaysia by capacity.
When it comes to scenery and the size of the grounds, the Blue Mosque in Shah Alam is considered No. 1.
While many mosques lack air conditioning, the Putra Mosque is fully equipped with it, making it a standout feature that ensures a comfortable visit.
Additionally, volunteers are on hand to provide explanations about the mosque and Islam if you’d like.
It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the teachings of Islam.
You won’t be allowed entry if you’re wearing revealing attire such as shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops, but don’t worry—robes are available for loan at the entrance counter.

Right next to the mosque stands a striking green-domed roof, shaped like an onion.
There is also Perdana Putra, which serves as the Prime Minister’s Office (the official residence and workplace of the Prime Minister).
