[[The Kuala Langat District (3 Areas) to Be Fully Locked Down and Quarantined]]
In an emergency announcement made in the late hours of Wednesday, June 3, the Kuala Langat district, located further south of Putrajaya, will implement the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) across three specific areas—Taman Langat Murni, Taman Langat Utama, and Taman Langat Utama 2—for a two-week period starting Wednesday, June 3, and ending on Wednesday, June 16.
With this, Malaysia has implemented the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at a ninth location. In addition to the following areas:
Simpang Renggam in Johor
The Sungai Lui area in Daerah Hulu Langat, Selangor
City One Plaza on Jalan Munshi Abdullah in the city
Flat Selangor Mansion and the Malayan Mansion buildings on Jalan Masjid India in the city
Taman Sri Murni in the Selayang vicinity
Selayang Baru in Selayang, within the Kuala Lumpur city limits
The area around Jalan Othman Pasar (Wet Market) in PJ
The reason is that approximately 20 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed among foreign workers. Around 9,000 residents and shop owners are affected. The area, which includes five-story apartments and linked houses, has a high concentration of foreign workers and individuals of Indian descent.
Residents in the vicinity were unable to leave, and outsiders were barred from entering. At midnight on Wednesday, June 3, the military sealed off the area using iron mesh fencing.
Updates to follow.
Let’s face COVID-19 together, calmly and unitedly.
