[The Area Around Jalan Othman Pasar (Wet Market) in PJ to Be Fully Closed and Quarantined]

At midnight on Sunday, May 10, an emergency announcement was made declaring that an Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) would be implemented for two weeks—from Sunday, May 10, to Saturday, May 23—in the area surrounding Jalan Othman Pasar (Wet Market) in Petaling Jaya.

With this, Malaysia has implemented the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in an eighth area. The locations are: ① Simpang Renggam in Johor, ② the Sungai Lui area in Daerah Hulu Langat, Selangor, ③ City One Plaza on Jalan Munshi Abdullah in the city, ④ Flat Selangor Mansion and the Malayan Mansion buildings on Jalan Masjid India in the city, ⑥ Taman Sri Murni in the Selayang vicinity, and ⑦ Selayang Baru in Selayang, KL.

The reason is that 26 coronavirus infections have been confirmed. Approximately 2,900 residents and businesses are affected.

Residents in the area are unable to leave, and outsiders are not permitted to enter. At midnight on Sunday, May 10, the military sealed off the area using a steel mesh fence. By around 9:00 AM, reports indicated that medical personnel had gathered at SJK(C) CHIN WOO (Kuala Lumpur Chin Woo Chinese Primary School), which is believed to be serving as a testing center. Meals are reportedly being prepared on the road outside the school to be distributed to residents. While outsiders cannot enter, they can pass medication to family members inside through the gaps in the steel mesh fence.
