[AirAsia Domestic Flights Resume from April 29]

AirAsia announced that it will resume domestic flights within Malaysia starting April 29, 2020. Resumption of flights to other countries is pending approval.

These include Thailand (scheduled for May 1, 2020), the Philippines (scheduled for May 1, 2020), India (scheduled for May 4, 2020), and Indonesia (scheduled for May 18, 2020).

As for international flights, they are expected to gradually recover after the government lifts travel restrictions. The resumed flights can be booked via airasia.com and the AirAsia mobile app. Further details on routes and flight schedules will be announced once approval is granted.

AirAsia states that it always prioritizes the safety and health of passengers and employees, and works closely with relevant authorities, local governments, civil aviation authorities, and health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to ensure that each flight complies with regulations.

AirAsia advises passengers to take basic precautions such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and practicing good personal hygiene. The airline also states that it conducts disinfection procedures after every flight, even though its cabins are equipped with HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter) filters—ultra-high-performance filters used in clean rooms.

Customers can contact AirAsia’s online customer service team via the airline’s AI-powered assistant, AVA, or through the support teams at airasia.com and support.airasia.com.

I’ll continue to update this.

Let’s stay calm and tackle the COVID-19 crisis together. Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, Malaysia announced an “Movement Control Order” from March 18 to March 31, effective from March 16 at 22:00 (23:00 Japan Time). In short, this order prohibits foreigners from entering the country and prevents Malaysian citizens from leaving.
