The green zone covers almost all of East Malaysia, specifically Sabah and Sarawak.
Peninsular Malaysia:
- Yan, Kedah
- Machang District, Kelantan
- Hulu Terengganu District It’s been reduced to just three locations. If the zones where you’re allowed to submit a new business opening application are limited to the green zone, that doesn’t really make much sense, does it?
However, according to reports from Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, who is currently receiving high praise, Malaysia’s initial basic reproduction number (R0; R naught) was 3.55.
This means that, on average, one infected person transmits the virus to 3.55 others. The Health Ministry predicts that the effective reproduction number (R naught) will drop to 0.9 by April 14, meaning each infected person will, on average, infect fewer than one other person.
They state that the Movement Control Order (MCO), which restricts human mobility, is being implemented to lower the basic reproduction number (R0, R naught). Furthermore, the Health Ministry has indicated that Malaysia has already passed its peak.
Japan might want to explain more about [the importance of reducing the basic reproduction number (R0; R naught)].
In epidemiology,
If R0 < 1, the infectious disease will gradually die out.
If R0 > 1, the infection spreads exponentially, leading to an epidemic. However, it won’t last forever.
Because the number of people getting infected is decreasing. Some of those who are infected may pass away, while others recover and develop immunity.
If R0 = 1, the infection becomes endemic.
We will continue to update.
Let’s stay calm and tackle the COVID-19 crisis together. In response to the impact of the novel coronavirus, Malaysia announced a “Movement Control Order” from March 18 to March 31, effective as of 10:00 PM on March 16 (Malaysia Time) / 11:00 PM on March 16 (Japan Time). In short, this means that foreigners are prohibited from entering the country, while Malaysian citizens are barred from leaving.
