[During MCO: Over 7,000 Arrested or Fined for Rule Violations]

Police Chief Tan Sri Abdul Hamid announced that over 7,000 individuals were arrested for violating Movement Control Order (MCO) regulations since its implementation, with those under 18 accounting for approximately 5% of the total.

I once lied to my family, went to a residential area and park with friends to smoke, got arrested by the police, and was fined under RM1,000.

Among those arrested were two police officers and 18 civil servants. They reportedly accepted a friend’s invitation to visit an entertainment center (likely a karaoke venue) and were caught singing when another officer conducted a crackdown.

For everyone in the Klang Valley, please keep the following guidelines in mind when going out: [if you’re in a car, only one driver is allowed], [stay within a 10 km radius of your home], and [when visiting hospitals or clinics, always have your appointment card or confirmation SMS ready]. (There have been news reports of couples and families being arrested for going out together for shopping.)

We’ll continue to update this.

Let’s stay calm and face the COVID-19 challenge together. In response to the impact of the novel coronavirus, Malaysia announced a “Movement Control Order” (MCO) from March 18 to March 31, effective from March 16 at 10:00 PM (11:00 PM Japan Time). In simple terms, this means that foreigners are prohibited from entering the country, while Malaysian citizens are barred from leaving.
