[Pandemic] 3 [Application orders to go to different states have been cancelled]

Let’s stay calm and tackle the COVID-19 crisis together. In response to the impact of the novel coronavirus, Malaysia announced a “Movement Control Order” (MCO) from March 18 to March 31, effective as of 10:00 PM on March 16 (Malaysia Time), which corresponds to 11:00 PM Japan Time. In simple terms, this order prohibits foreigners from entering the country and bans Malaysian citizens from leaving.

It seems there’s a lot of mixed information and some confusion, but let’s stay calm and verify the credibility of the information as we take action.

This information is from March 18, 2020 (Wed) at 8:01 AM.

The “Application Order to Travel to a Different State” has been cancelled.

The Malaysian Police Force (PDRM) lifted the “Permit to Travel to Other States” requirement on the night of Tuesday, March 17, meaning there is no longer a need to apply for a pass at police stations. Police Inspector-General Tan Sri Razarudin Husain stated that the permit requirement was canceled to prevent mass infections at police stations nationwide. He told the media that a meeting would be held on the 18th to resume operations, assuring the public that no restrictions would be imposed until a new decision was made. However, the situation subsequently shifted to a directive urging people to “stay at home.”

The following information is from Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at 15:37.

Issued by the Ministry of Trade and the National Security Council:

Open: Restaurants (takeout only), shopping malls (groceries only), garbage and recycling, door installation work, hotel accommodations, essential vehicle repairs, and trailers.

Closed: Self-service laundries, interior and renovation work, morning markets, night markets, and roadside stalls.

I will continue to update.
