[Time restrictions on public transport services from March 25]

From March 25, public transport operating hours will be restricted to 6:00 AM–10:00 AM and 5:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, the Minister of Transport, announced that from the 25th, during the implementation of the Movement Control Order, national public transportation operating hours would be restricted to 6:00 AM–10:00 AM and 5:00 PM–10:00 PM. This restriction applies to free buses such as GoKL and Smart Selangor, all shuttle buses, LRT, MRT, monorail, and KTMB services.

Taxis and e-hailing services (such as Grab) are unaffected but must comply with the guidelines, while long-distance buses on Peninsular Malaysia are continuing to operate.

The Malaysian Ministry of Transport has not instructed long-distance bus operators to halt their services. However, due to a sharp decline in demand for long-distance buses, operators may be forced to reduce the frequency of their services or temporarily suspend long-distance bus operations during the Movement Control Order.

Continuing to update.

Let’s stay calm and fight COVID-19 together. In response to the impact of the novel coronavirus, Malaysia announced a “Movement Control Order” from March 18 to March 31, effective as of 10:00 PM on March 16 (11:00 PM Japan Time). In short, this means prohibiting foreigners from entering the country and preventing Malaysian citizens from leaving.
