“Property Location + Station & Building Information”:

Opus Residences is a condominium conveniently located near Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur’s iconic Chinatown. You may have heard of the Central Market, a bustling shopping hub situated right across from Chinatown, where you can find a wide array of Malaysian souvenirs, handicrafts, and local goods.

Right in front of you stands the awe-inspiring PNB118, a towering landmark that commands attention.

PNB118 is a separate development from the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) Financial District project, representing another key site being developed by the government. It was previously known as the Merdeka 118 building (MERDEKA118). This skyscraper stands 118 floors tall and reaches a height of 635 meters above ground.

The most iconic office towers in Malaysia’s skyline include the 106-storey, 492-metre-tall TRX106 (The Exchange 106) in the Financial District, the 88-storey, 452-metre twin towers, and the 118-storey, 635-metre PNB118. Surpassing the first two, PNB118 is now Malaysia’s tallest building and the second tallest in the world.

Opus Residences is located directly across the road from the PNB118 development and the former stadium. The Maharajalela Monorail Station is just a short 3-minute walk away.

The biggest selling point of Opus Residences is its stunning front-row view of PNB118, the second-tallest building in the world and the tallest in Southeast Asia. While the 106-story tower under construction at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), a special financial district I’ve mentioned in previous articles, has also been drawing significant attention, PNB118 is increasingly commanding awe-inspiring presence as its completion draws near. In fact, it’s impossible to talk about Opus Residences without mentioning the PNB118 project.

Adorned with a diamond-shaped glass facade, the PNB118 tower symbolizes Malaysia’s diverse heritage. “Merdeka” is the Malay word for “independence.” The building’s unique silhouette was originally designed to mimic the shape of the back of a hand raised seven times by Malaysia’s first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, as he passionately proclaimed the “Merdeka” slogan.

The 118-story PNB118 is composed of the following four sections:

  • 82nd-floor office level,

  • An 18-story luxury hotel (Park Hyatt)

  • The 18th floor features the Sky Deck (The View AT 118),

  • A 7-story shopping mall spanning 900 square feet (118 Mall),

The PNB118 project is set to include two Merdeka Condominiums (Merdeka Residence West & East Towers), one Serviced Residence building, a ballroom, The Atre, Merdeka Boulevard at 118, Masjid Merdeka, and the Merdeka Textile Museum. Details are yet to be finalized. PNB118 will be connected to the MRT1 Merdeka Station. It is also linked via a pedestrian bridge to the LRT and Monorail’s Hang Tuah Station. Additionally, Maharajalela Monorail Station and Plaza Rakyat LRT Station are both within walking distance.

In other words, Opus Residences is situated in close proximity to a massive RM5 billion development that spans this 19-acre plot. The PNB118 tower, designed by Australian firm Fender Katsalidis Architects, will be constructed in three phases. Commencing construction in 2014 and scheduled for completion in 2024, this project is poised to transform the area into a thriving commercial hub, which will undoubtedly enhance the value of the neighboring Opus Residences.

Opus Residences is a condominium completed between 2019 and 2020, standing as one of the area’s premium high-rise properties. Its location is nothing short of exceptional, offering convenient access to Malaysia’s Golden Triangle. Key landmarks such as the KLCC Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, and the TRX Financial District are all within a mere 6–12-minute drive.

Sizes range from 629 to 1,147 sq ft, offering 1 to 3 bedrooms.
