My comment:

If you’re a fan of Malacca, you probably already know that the UNESCO World Heritage city—specifically Jonker Street—is lined with all sorts of stylish cafes. This time, however, I skipped the usual spots on Jonker Street itself and headed out to a “rumored” cafe in the surrounding area.

One of the defining features of Melaka’s stylish cafes is the seamless fusion of “the new” and “the old,” resulting in spaces filled with an array of unique decorations. The color palettes are also stunning. You’ll find a vibrant mix of Malay art and Chinese art born from Baba Nyonya culture, featuring bold hues and dazzling accents. Another key characteristic, in my opinion, is how these cafes embrace a sense of “unity with nature,” often integrating lush greenery into their design.

This time, I headed to Locahouz Cafe (裕兴茶室) specifically to experience this “unity with plants” vibe. The cafe features a traditional-style ceiling right in the middle, with plants hanging down from it—that’s what makes it so stylish!!

When we went, there was indeed a bit of a queue, but we were able to get in after waiting just a short while. And to top it off, we were lucky enough to snag a seat under that stunning ceiling! Secured the coveted ceiling-side spot! The chic, stylish ambiance is in full effect. The atmosphere was lovely, and I was quite satisfied! I absolutely love how effortlessly stylish the entire cafe is. Since we had dinner later that evening, we skipped a meal and just ordered coffee and lemon tea.

I want to visit Malacca again.
