[Eat Nico] Super Big Hawker Village with Lots of B-Class Gourmet Food! at Cheras Trade Square (Cheras Balakong)

☆A Super Huge Hawker Village Has Arrived☆

This is a recently opened, massive hawker village located between Cheras Selatan AEON and C180.

The clam sake-steamed dish at the shop in the center of the photo is my absolute favorite.

A sizzling platter of steamed clams with garlic and chili, served at a Malaysian seafood restaurant.

A Malaysian meal featuring a sizzling omelette with minced meat and potatoes, soup, and rice on a red table.

This creative omelet-style dish on the right is also one of my absolute favorites. It features an egg patty on a sizzling hot plate, generously topped with tofu and minced meat in a savory sauce. When it arrives, it’s brought out under a large lid, so when you lift it, the hot plate sizzles loudly, instantly drawing the attention of everyone around! I’ve never seen this dish at other hawker stalls, and it’s incredibly delicious—I highly recommend it. And for just RM10 (less than 300 yen at current exchange rates), it’s a steal!!

Sizzling fish in spicy sambal sauce topped with sliced red onions on a hot plate at a Malaysian restaurant.

This is Portuguese cuisine. The defining feature of this dish is the sweet and savory sauce served over grilled fish!

Malaysia was once a Portuguese colony, which is why Portuguese cuisine remains popular to this day.

I once had a dish of steamed fish and okra in chili sauce at a hawker stall somewhere, and it was unique and delicious!!

Crowd dining at night at a bustling outdoor food court with blue tables and chairs under bright lights.

It was so crowded, absolutely packed! It’s always like this.

Parking is intense! It’s hard to park and dangerous near the stalls, so please park a bit further away!

I’ve even seen minor fender-benders, so you really need to be careful near the food stalls.

Vendors preparing traditional food at a bustling Malaysian night market stall with large bowls of ingredients.

This is a dim sum restaurant. It’s always packed, and I ordered xiaolongbao, but it took about 30 minutes for the dishes to arrive. When it’s busy, the wait can be incredibly long.

There’s also a Japanese food stall. The yakisoba was delicious! (#^.^#)

Comments:

For those unfamiliar with the area, places like Cheras and Balakong might not ring a bell.

Cheras Trade Square is located right next to C180, a commercial hub in Cheras, and also houses an ibis hotel within the same area.

It’s equipped with all the amenities you need for daily life, including AEON Cheras Selatan, Columbia Asia Hospital, supermarkets, Chinese restaurants (like Zhong Guo Feng), plenty of hawker stalls, and shop lots.

This time, I’d like to introduce a hawker center located at Cheras Trade Square.

There are several hawker centers within the same area, offering such a tempting array of delicious dishes that it’s hard to decide where to start.

As someone who’s especially fond of Malaysian Chinese noodle dishes and gourmet delights, this place is truly my favorite spot for “eat, eat, and eat some more!”

I can’t wait to introduce this to you all—I really hope you’ll come and try it!

The grilled tofu is delicious, and the ambiance feels just like Jalan Arrow.

This hawker centre also has a 2-Ringgit shop, so we highly recommend checking it out!
