Hi there! I’m Aya, a Japanese wife living in Malaysia. Today, I’d like to introduce you to Chee Meng Chicken Rice, a highly recommended lunch spot in Bukit Bintang. Located right across from the Federal Hotel, this place offers fair prices and a remarkably diverse menu.
The founder is a Malaysian Chinese named Mr. Yeok Kai Seng.
“Huh? Isn’t this Chee Meng?” I thought (lol),
Either way, this is a long-established institution that has been serving chicken rice for over 50 years, so it’s an absolute must-try.
Personally, I felt the portion was a bit small, but the taste was very delicious.
The chicken rice at this restaurant is compliant with Islamic law (Sharia), and the entire premises meets Halal standards.
If you happen to be passing through the Bukit Bintang area, this is a highly recommended spot for lunch.
The menu is packed with delicious options like mango salad, fried wontons, crispy lemon chicken, tom yum seafood, fish ball soup, shrimp omelette, and sambal squid—all at very reasonable prices!!
Of course, you must order the chicken rice set.
