Aya Mama Blog 🎂Cake and Confectionery Ingredient Specialty Store 🧁 in Malaysia

Can you guess what this is?
It’s a mooncake mold. Many Japanese people have the impression that mooncakes aren’t delicious, but there are actually many varieties, and some are quite easy to enjoy. I couldn’t eat mooncakes when I was in Japan, but now I’ve grown to like them. I especially love homemade mooncakes—they’re so tasty! 😊 I’m not a huge fan of those with salted egg yolks, but I’ve gotten used to eating them. Since moving to Malaysia, I’ve become able to eat durian, cilantro, and mooncakes—all things I used to absolutely hate! 😊 It feels like my palate is slowly turning into that of a Malaysian Chinese person. 😄

During the Lunar New Year period, you’ll see those red-lidded containers filled with snacks everywhere—they’re sold right here.

They sell cupcake liners in bulk here too~ My mom used to bring them all the way from Japan 😅, but you can just grab them here.

This shop is easily recognizable by its mascot—a chubby guy holding a cake. So cute! 🥰🥰

This shop is tucked away in a corner of the shophouse row. The Chinese dried goods store I featured last week is just three units down from here. This street is also lined with other convenient shops, including a chicken butcher and a pork butcher, making it a highly practical spot for grocery shopping. I’ll be sharing more shop recommendations in future posts!
See you next time~👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
